In April 2026, Headway successfully handled the transportation of 45.6 tons of fresh bananas exported from Vietnam to China via reefer container, contributing to the expansion of Vietnamese agricultural exports in the global market.

According to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, fruit and vegetable export turnover in Q1/2026 reached nearly USD 1.48 billion, representing a 27% year-on-year increase compared to the same period in 2025. China continued to be the key export market, accounting for more than 54% of the industry’s total export value.

For bananas, Vietnam is currently among the largest suppliers to the Chinese market, with annual production reaching hundreds of thousands of tons and maintaining positive growth momentum in recent years.

Shipment Details

  •  Route: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Dalian, China
  • Commodity: Fresh Bananas | 45.6 Tons | 01 x 40RF Reefer Container
  • Service Scope: International Ocean Freight.

Cold Chain Logistics for Agricultural Exports

The shipment was executed during the peak agricultural export season in Asia, a period marked by shortages of empty reefer containers, limited vessel capacity, and heavy booking pressure across international shipping lines.

With over 23 years of expertise in cold chain logistics, Headway proactively coordinated with shipping lines to:

  • Secure suitable vessel schedules in line with the cargo loading plan.
  • Arrange empty reefer containers to ensure timely cargo stuffing.
  • Closely monitor and continuously update export vessel schedules.
  • Support the handling of CY Cut-off (Container Yard Cut-off) and SI Cut-off (Shipping Instruction submission deadline), ensuring smooth operational execution.
  • Maintain stable temperature settings and preserve cargo quality throughout the transportation process.

The successful execution of this fresh banana export shipment further reinforces Headway’s position in reefer logistics and agricultural export supply chain solutions.

Supporting Vietnamese Agricultural Exports

The year 2026 continues to bring positive momentum to Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable industry as import demand from China and other Asian markets remains strong.

In addition, Headway has extensive experience handling fresh banana exports to China, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and the Middle East — markets with stable demand for Vietnamese bananas thanks to their quality and consistent supply capabilities.

Through optimized cold chain logistics solutions and a global transportation network, Headway continues to support and connect Vietnamese enterprises in expanding their presence across the global agricultural supply chain.
