(The display cooler shipment is ready to depart on the transport route from Ningbo to Los Angeles.)

In January 2026, Headway successfully executed an international ocean freight shipment comprising 04 x 40’HC containers of display coolers from China to the United States, further demonstrating its strong supply chain management and coordination capabilities on the Asia – U.S. West Coast route.

Shipment details:

  • Commodity: Display coolers and spare parts
  • Volume: 04 x 40’HC (371 cartons)
  • Ocen freight: Ningbo, CN -> Los Angeles, CA, US
  • Scope of services: International ocean freight; Customs clearance; Destination port coordination (CY/CY)

Logistics characteristics of display coolers

Display coolers fall under oversized and bulky cargo, featuring large dimensions and high sensitivity in terms of structural integrity and product appearance, requiring strict handling standards to ensure safety and aesthetic quality for display purposes.

Although not classified as Dangerous Goods (DG cargo), display coolers are equipped with integrated refrigeration systems and electronic components, requiring:

• Optimized stowage planning to maximize 40’HC container space utilization
• Proper lashing & securing to minimize vibration throughout the long ocean transit
• Risk control measures to prevent impact damage affecting operational performance after installation

FCL – CY/CY shipping model for bulky cargo

Based on the cargo characteristics and delivery schedule requirements, Headway JSC implemented an ocean freight FCL – CY/CY (Full Container Load) model for the display cooler shipment, whereby the cargo was fully loaded into dedicated containers and delivered/received directly at the container yards of the port of loading and port of discharge.

Headway’s solution included:

• Advising on suitable transportation solutions for bulky cargo
• Arranging 40’HC containers meeting dimensional and payload requirements
• Coordinating stable vessel schedules on the China – U.S. trade lane
• Executing accurate export customs clearance and synchronized documentation
•  Closely collaborating with the destination agent to ensure on-time delivery

In this project, the client handled cargo stuffing at origin warehouse, while Headway focused on managing transportation execution and documentation control to ensure overall schedule compliance.

Flexible coordination under tight timeline requirements

The shipment was executed under a tight delivery timeline aligned with the client’s business plan. Headway proactively monitored vessel schedules, optimized cut-off times, and maintained close coordination with the shipping line, customs authorities, and destination agent.

As a result, all 04 containers were safely delivered to Los Angeles in sound condition and within the committed transit timeframe.

Value delivered by Headway

The successful execution of this shipment further reaffirms Headway JSC’s capability in handling large-scale FCL projects, particularly for bulky cargo requiring sophisticated transport planning and risk management, while enhancing supply chain efficiency across global trade lanes.
